The Firefox website has been downloaded over 800 million times till now. This is a critical milestone for the open-source software project. In order to celebrate the occasion, Mozilla has teamed up with FreeRice and is encouraging Firefox users to feed the hungry.

At the FreeRice website from Firefox, users can play a simple vocabulary game which is designed by Firefox to advertise the helps contributing rice to people in need. Firefox donates enough money for 20 grains of rice to the UN World Food Program for each question that the users answer correctly. Mozilla hopes that Firefox users can continue playing the game and help to feed the hungry people.

The popularity of Firefox has climbed steadily in recent year, and the program is expected to have over 125 million users every day. However, Mozilla has found that there are a lot more downloads than users although it is working hard to increase user retention.

If you want to participate in the riceraiser program, you can click though to FreeRice.com and answer some of the vocabulary questions. Take a few minutes to play some rounds, you can help to save lives.
